Welcome to
Clouds End
In choosing to stay at either The Pottery, Helderfontein House or Clouds End Kaya self catering cottages on Clouds End Farm, you will discover a valley in the Western Cape, which is matchless in its beauty and uniqueness. The cottages are situated 11 kms outside the seaside town of Hermanus, the famous whale-watching capital of the world.
Clouds End is an award winning, family owned, working fruit farm in the fertile Hemel en Aarde Valley which is surrounded by some of the most dramatic mountains and home to some of South Africa's finest wine and fruit farms.
The name Clouds End is derived from the sight of a single wisp of cloud that lingers over the tallest peak in the range of mountains called Babaylons Toring - The Tower of Babel.
The cottages are over 100 years old and have been carefully and lovingly renovated, maintaining much of their character, to ensure the modern yet simple comforts.
These Grand Old Ladies are fragile and are situated in an environmentally sensitive area so please treat them with care.

Discovering this idylic place, we find ourselves filled with a yearning to linger here, where time stands still and beauty overwhelms.....
Helderfontein House is the original farm house altered to embrace the spectacular views. This cottage sleeps 6 ( main bed en suite ) in a spacious and gracious environment .
The Pottery has been recreated from an old shed and once housed a complete potter's workshop, with workbenches, kilns and wheels. It sleeps 4 with a modern shower, loo and basin. It embraces all the light and openness of an artist's studio.
Clouds End Kaya is a newly renovated quaint cottage in a Tranquil setting.
All the cottages have a braai and the Pottery has a shaded, secluded boma area. They have modern open fireplaces and heaters in all the bedrooms.
You will drink the sweetest water and breathe the clearest air, totally unpolluted and God given.
You are able to braai, walk, cycle, picnic at the dam and go on a guided horse trail through some of the secluded orchards and fynbos. There are many first class restaurants and interesting sights to explore and experience.
We hope your stay will create a connection between you and this unique environment aptly named The Hemel en Aarde valley.
